The Chairman Truck

We wanted to see how far we could push street food using techniques from high-end restaurants and The Chairman was my first concept." Our buns are crafted by "Clement Restaurant" - a local, family-owned restaurant that's been making buns in San Francisco for over 40 years. Whip Out

Whip Out is American comfort food done the high-end artisanal way and served between two slider-sized buns. Rob John, a former teacher disillusioned with the Californian education system, left the classroom for the food industry. A self-proclaimed perfectionist, he hired the young and talented chefs Bret Downy and Neil Davidson, both of whom had worked at Ad Hoc and French Laundry, to meet his high standards. Together, the three of them serve sliders for every conceivable taste.

We dare you to find a slider you wouldn’t like in the following selection: beef patty, split pea fritter (for you vegetarian folks), pulled pork, BLT, crispy meatloaf, and fried chicken. If you’re just not in the mood for sliders (crazy talk, we know), their buttermilk fried chicken is some of the best we’ve ever had. Smoked in an on-site smoker, brined, battered in their special mix, and deep fried, it’s prepared on the truck and made to order, like all their food.
